Three Things Every Young Jobseeker Can Put On A CV
Here are three powerful, universal inclusions that ANY young person can use:
1. Skills You Already Use Every Day
Even without job experience, you have real, employer‑friendly skills from:
- school/college projects
- group work
- hobbies
- sport
- caring for siblings
- social media use
- creating content
- gaming (strategy, teamwork, problem‑solving!)
Example wording:
“Good communicator from college presentations.”
“Teamwork from football and group assignments.”
“Time management from balancing studies and part‑time commitments.”
2. Real‑Life Experience That Counts
You don't need a formal job to show responsibility. Valid examples:
- volunteering
- Duke of Edinburgh
- charity events
- helping in a family business
- running a social account
- babysitting
- coaching
- delivering newspapers
- school responsibilities
Anything that shows reliability, discipline or people interaction belongs on a CV.
3. A Simple, Strong Personal Statement
This is where you can shine. A good personal statement tells employers:
who you are
what job you want
what you bring
Example:
“I’m a hardworking jobseeker looking for an opportunity to learn, grow and contribute. I bring strong communication skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to reliability.”
Short. Professional. Impactful.
